Tezos

Tezos is developed by several independent teams, including Nomadic Labs and Trilitech, with open-source code. On 24 September 2026 they introduced Quantumnet, an experimental post-quantum testnet, and on 31 July 2026 Nomadic Labs announced Ganesha, a seventh upgrade proposal for the Etherlink layer 2. Protocol upgrades are adopted by on-chain vote.

The Tezos Foundation raised about $232 million in its 2017 token sale and funds ecosystem development; in August 2026 it began a year-long partnership with HEK Basel. A class action over the token sale was settled for $25 million in 2020. No US exchange-traded fund holding XTZ was found, and data on holder concentration is insufficient in the collected facts.

Tez has no maximum supply. On 1 October 2026 TzKT showed 1,117,637,417 XTZ in total, 356,186,543 XTZ created through rewards since genesis and 2,317,364 XTZ burned. Holders who bake, stake or delegate receive new issuance; others are diluted.

On 1 October 2026, 341,658,635 XTZ were frozen as stake, about 31% of total supply, and the chain has run since 30 June 2018. Bakers need at least 6,000 tez of baking power. Data on transaction activity and fees is insufficient in the collected facts.
