Can a Muslim hold Zebec Network?8 Shariah criteria
6 pass · 2 caution · 0 failHolding ZBCN pays nothing, but ZBCN staking pays a quoted APY for a fixed lock-up with no validation work, and Zebec offers lending-based yield products.
Riba is interest or any guaranteed increase on a loan. Zebec's staking locks ZBCN for a fixed period 'in return for a yield, quoted as an APY', with no early exit and no validation work; a fixed return for time is close to interest. Zebec's apps also offer yield products from Dolomite, Blend and USX/Solstice, which are lending-based. Sharlife, the first authoritative source that rates ZBCN, lists it as permissible without public reasons; this criterion departs from it because these features are documented by Zebec itself. CryptoUmmah scores riba 53/100.
ZBCN pays network fees and carries governance rights in a working payments business.
This criterion asks whether the asset has real value as property (mal). ZBCN is used for network fees (1 ZBCN per transaction), governance votes and product benefits in an operating payments business. Sharlife rates it permissible, and the general dispute among scholars about whether crypto is property is not a weakness of this coin, so the criterion is at the maximum.
ZBCN has no chance-based payout or meme mechanics; Zebec sells payment services.
Maysir is gambling: gaining or losing by chance rather than through productive exchange. Zebec provides payroll, payments and cards, and ZBCN has no lottery, game or meme features. Price volatility from trading is not a feature of the token, so the criterion is at the maximum.
Most of Zebec's business is payments and cards, but it also distributes lending-based yield products; the share of revenue from them is unknown.
This criterion asks how the issuer earns and whether any of that income is impermissible. Zebec earns from payroll, card programmes and partner contracts, and that revenue funds ZBCN buybacks. But its apps also distribute yield products from lending protocols such as Dolomite and Blend. Because impermissible income is likely present but its share is not disclosed, the criterion is at caution.
Supply is capped and fully unlocked and the team is named, but an audit centralization finding is unresolved and staking terms are thin.
Gharar is excessive uncertainty or hidden information. ZBCN's supply is capped at 100 billion, the last unlock was in March 2026, and Zebec's team is named. But CryptoUmmah reports that CertiK's major centralization finding was acknowledged rather than fixed, the staking page does not state reward sources, and Zebec's own canonical tokenomics page gives no distribution figures. These lower the score within pass.
ZBCN is used in a payments network for payroll, cards and streaming.
This criterion looks at what the asset is actually used for. ZBCN pays fees and governance on a network used for payroll, streaming payments and cards, and Zebec announced new payroll off-ramps with MoneyGram in September 2026. No dominant impermissible use of the token itself is documented, so the criterion is at the maximum.
Fully paid spot ZBCN is available and can be held in any Solana wallet.
This criterion asks whether the asset can be owned in a permissible way. ZBCN trades spot with full payment and delivery and can be held in self-custody on Solana. Ownership does not depend on derivatives or leverage, so the criterion is at the maximum.
Zebec helps workers get paid in stablecoins and cash out; no confirmed fraud or hack is documented.
Maslahah weighs benefit against harm. Zebec offers payroll and off-ramp services, including payouts at MoneyGram locations. CryptoUmmah mentions allegations against the project, but it describes them as unconfirmed, and no primary or reputable source collected confirms fraud or a hack. The criterion is at the maximum.
How you can use it
Tap a card for the ruling and sourcesBuying ZBCN with full payment and immediate delivery is available, and the tokens can be moved to a self-custody wallet. This is the clean way to own a HALAL-rated asset.
No ZBCN exchange-traded fund was found as of 1 October 2026. A fund that holds ZBCN itself and does not lend it would be judged like spot.
ZBCN pays network fees in Zebec's payment products, but it is not general money. Tier-1 bodies such as Indonesia's MUI rule that using cryptocurrency as currency is not permissible.
ZBCN staking locks tokens for a fixed term in return for a quoted APY, with no validation work. A fixed return for time is close to interest, so it fails.
Margin trading in ZBCN is offered by some exchanges but is never acceptable: it is a deferred exchange with borrowed money and leverage (AAOIFI SS 20).
ZBCN perpetual futures are offered on several exchanges, but futures, perpetuals and options always fail under AAOIFI SS 20: deferred exchange without delivery, usually with leverage.
Lending ZBCN through exchange or DeFi lending programmes pays depositors interest from borrowers. This is riba.
Zebec's own yield products (Dolomite, Blend, USX/Solstice) and other ZBCN yield products get their return from lending or similar interest-like sources and fail.
