XDC Network

XDC Network is an EVM-compatible proof-of-stake blockchain for trade finance and real-world asset tokenisation; XDC pays fees and secures it.

XDC Network is a public blockchain aimed at trade finance, real-world asset tokenisation and enterprise use. It works with Ethereum tools (EVM-compatible) and has run since May 2019. XDC is its native coin: it pays transaction fees and is staked by the masternodes that run the network. The XDC Foundation supports the project.

The network uses XinFin Delegated Proof of Stake (XDPoS). Since the XDC 2.0 upgrade in 2024 it uses a BFT design based on Chained HotStuff. 108 core validator masternodes produce blocks, backed by 432 protector nodes. Each masternode must stake at least 10 million XDC, and validators earn rewards per epoch for their work. Blocks come about every two seconds, and transactions are final after about six seconds.

About 21.5 billion XDC were in circulation on 1 October 2026, out of a total supply of about 38 billion; there is no hard cap. The network reports more than a billion transactions and 700,000 smart contracts, and lists partners in trade finance and tokenisation. A staking exchange-traded product from 21shares holds XDC in Europe.
