About Stable
STABLE is the staking and governance token of Stable, a layer-1 blockchain where fees are paid in USDT instead of a separate gas token.
Stable is a Layer 1 blockchain built for moving US dollar stablecoins. Its mainnet went live on 8 December 2025. On most blockchains you must hold a volatile coin to pay fees. On Stable, fees are paid in USDT0, an omnichain version of Tether's USDT, so users can send and receive dollars without ever holding STABLE. PayPal's PYUSD is supported as a second settlement asset.
STABLE does a different job. It secures the network through delegated proof-of-stake and is used to vote on upgrades and treasury decisions. Fees paid in USDT0 collect in a treasury managed by smart contracts, and validators may share them with the holders who delegate STABLE to them. There is no inflation: all 100 billion STABLE were issued at launch by a foundation in Panama.
The project is closely tied to the Tether group. Bitfinex co-led its $28 million seed round, Tether and PayPal are investors, and Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino is an adviser. Team and investors hold half of the supply. In August 2026 their vesting was replaced by a 'Universal Lock': 82 billion locked STABLE is released in stages from December 2027 to December 2029.
Adoption is still small compared with the launch hype. A pre-deposit campaign drew over $2 billion, but in September 2026 DefiLlama counted about $21 million of stablecoins and $30 million of DeFi deposits on the chain, most of it in a lending market. The node software is distributed as binaries, and its source code is not public.
