About OriginTrail
TRAC is the utility token of OriginTrail, a decentralised knowledge graph that stores verifiable data for supply chains and AI.
OriginTrail runs a Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG): a network of nodes that store and link data in a way others can verify. Companies use it to track products through supply chains, and the project now focuses on giving AI systems trusted data. Its partners include the British Standards Institution and GS1.
TRAC pays for publishing and updating data on the DKG. Node operators and people who stake TRAC with them share these publishing fees, after the node operator and a small protocol fee (3% by default) take their part. Locking TRAC for longer gives a larger share.
TRAC has a fixed supply of 500 million tokens, about 447 million in circulation in October 2026. It was launched in January 2018 as an Ethereum token.
