ORDI is the first BRC-20 token on Bitcoin, created as an experiment in March 2023; it has a fixed supply of 21 million.
ORDI is the first token made with BRC-20, an experimental way to create tokens on Bitcoin using Ordinals inscriptions. A pseudonymous developer known as Domo deployed it on 8 March 2023 as a demo of the standard. His documentation warned that such tokens would be worthless.
The supply is fixed at 21 million ORDI. Anyone could mint up to 1,000 at a time until the cap was reached, so there was no sale and no team allocation. Balances are not stored directly on Bitcoin: off-chain indexers work them out from the inscriptions.
ORDI has no product, team, website or governance. It is held and traded as the flagship of the BRC-20 ecosystem. Binance listed it in November 2023 with a high-risk tag. On 1 October 2026 it traded about 95% below its March 2024 high.
