The Instadapp team built Fluid into one of the top four lending markets on Ethereum by August 2025. In 2026 the protocol incurred about $21 million of bad debt in the Resolv incident; the team published a post-mortem, covered about $1.5 million itself and proposed cutting incentives. A Fluid Foundation was proposed in February 2026, with a monthly grant request of $350,000 in August 2026.

On 24 July 2026 a proposal said Kinetic Group, a Dubai-regulated asset manager, plans to acquire up to 10% of FLUID supply through market purchases and negotiated deals and to build permissioned institutional markets on Fluid. An external audit page says distribution skews heavily to insiders. Data on other large holders is insufficient in the facts collected.

Supply is capped at 100 million FLUID and the team says all tokens have vested; about 83.7 million circulated on 2 October 2026. Revenue-funded repurchases reached about 1.3% of supply, but the May 2026 proposal halted them and cut incentives to rebuild the treasury.

DefiLlama showed about $976 million deposited and $760.5 million borrowed on 2 October 2026, with about $3.79 million of fees over 30 days and $149.9 million all time. The May 2026 post-mortem describes large-scale withdrawals from lending markets after several DeFi exploits.
