Flare

Flare runs an EVM-compatible layer-1 with built-in data protocols (the FTSO oracle and the Flare Data Connector); its node software go-flare is based on AvalancheGo. Development is active and changes go through on-chain votes: FIP.16 was accepted with 98.06% in April 2026, and in June 2026 a vote approved Flare Confidential Compute on the Songbird test network. Control is concentrated: the Flare Foundation administers the new FIRE revenue pool, and joint control with elected providers comes only if holders of 50% of the inflatable supply vote for it.

In February 2026 the custodian Hex Trust began offering institutional clients native FLR staking and FXRP minting and redemption. FLR is on the National Bank of Kazakhstan's list of authorised digital assets of 30 April 2026. Ownership is concentrated: Flare's docs say the Flare Foundation holds about 9.8 billion FLR and the Flare VC Fund 10 billion FLR, close to a fifth of the about 106.6 billion total supply. No ETF or ETP data was found in the facts.

FLR has no maximum supply. On 27 September 2026 CoinGecko showed about 106.64 billion total and 86.94 billion circulating. FIP.16 cut annual inflation from 5% to 3% and the yearly cap from 5 billion to 3 billion FLR, and raised the base gas fee 20 times, projecting about 300 million FLR burned a year from fees. The FlareDrop programme ended on 30 January 2026, and monthly burns of about 66.3 million FLR ran until January 2026. The FIRE pool collects protocol fees with the main aim of reducing supply, including token repurchases to burn, but it had accrued only $44,632 by 24 September 2026.

FXRP, Flare's wrapped XRP, launched on 24 September 2025; a year later about 145.2 million FXRP had been minted, about 130 million of it used in DeFi protocols such as Kinetic and Morpho. In January 2026 Flare reported about $200 million of TVL, about 860,000 active addresses and about 500,000 daily transactions. DefiLlama showed about $136 million of TVL on 27 September 2026. The chain uses Snowman++ consensus with about 1.8-second blocks; validators need over 80% uptime to earn rewards, and delegation per data provider is capped at 2.5% of wrapped FLR.
