About Convex Finance
CVX is the token of Convex Finance, which boosts Curve liquidity rewards and pools voting power over Curve emissions.
Convex Finance is built on top of Curve, a decentralised exchange for stablecoins and similar assets. Curve gives extra CRV rewards to liquidity providers who lock CRV. Convex locks CRV on behalf of many users, so liquidity providers who deposit through Convex get the boosted rewards without locking CRV themselves.
Convex keeps 17% of the CRV rewards it collects and shares most of this with people who stake cvxCRV and CVX. Holders who lock CVX for at least 16 weeks (vlCVX) vote on which Curve pools receive CRV emissions and earn a share of protocol fees.
CVX has a maximum supply of 100 million, minted as Curve rewards are claimed; about 93 million were circulating in October 2026. Some rewards include crvUSD fees from Curve's stablecoin, whose income comes from borrowers.
