Celestia

Celestia Labs develops the network in the open under the celestiaorg GitHub organisation. In 2026 it introduced Fibre for high-throughput blockspace (January) and Private Blockspace (January), announced the Hibiscus v7 upgrade (February), acquired Sovereign Labs (15 July) and reported a Fibre benchmark of 3.07 Tb/s across 120 validators on 1 October. The company raised $55 million in 2022 in a round led by Bain Capital and Polychain.

Early backers held 35.57% of genesis supply (Series A and B 19.67%, seed 15.90%), now fully vested. In July 2025 Polychain disposed of its remaining TIA to the Celestia Foundation for $62.5 million after criticism of its staking-reward liquidations, and the foundation planned to place the tokens with new investors. VanEck lists a Celestia exchange-traded note on Euronext Amsterdam and Paris since April 2025.

TIA has no supply cap. Inflation started at 8% a year, was cut to about 5% by the Lotus upgrade in July 2025 and to about 2.5% by the v6 upgrade in November 2025, declining 6.7% a year towards a 1.5% floor. Total supply was 1,178,391,932 TIA on 1 October 2026, against 1 billion at genesis. Lotus also ties staking-reward liquidity to vesting, which limits early holders taking rewards on locked tokens.

On 1 October 2026, 475,083,942 TIA were bonded to validators, about 40% of total supply, in a set capped at 100 validators with a 2% slashing penalty for double-signing. DL News reported in June 2025 that demand for Celestia's data availability services had not met expectations. Current fee revenue data is insufficient in the collected facts.
